About the New London Maritime Society, its Museum and Library

FLM Lib.jpg

The New London Maritime Society was formed in the early 1980s to acquire the city's landmark Custom House as a maritime museum and venue for programs.  The Frank L. McGuire Maritime Library in the museum was dedicated in 1998 and has grown to nearly 3000 volumes and a number of archival collections.

"Down to the Shore" is one in a series of illustrated presentations describing our maritime history with images and text.  Comments or questions are welcomed by editor Brian Rogers, at bdrog@conncoll.edu

We invite you to visit the Society's website to learn about its programs, the Museum and its Shop, and to support our work by joining or making a donation.

Thank you!
