The Custom House Maritime Museum and the Frank L. McGuire Maritime Library occupy the historic building designed by Robert Mills in 1833 and opened on the New London waterfront in 1835. The New London Maritime Society took occupancy in the 1980s to turn it into a museum, a venue for cultural events, and a library. The Society depends upon contributions from the public to continue its mission of "telling the stories of New London's waterfront," offering educational programs to school children, and managing three area lighthouses.

If you have enjoyed this exhibition and others in the series, please visit the Society's website to read about its programs and make a donation.
