Iced-in!

The job of the Tasco was to salvage and rescue other vessels so it must have been particularly galling for the crew when they got stuck in the ice.  The photographs shown below were taken in the harbor of Northport, Long Island.  It must have been a very cold winter since the ice was thick enough to ensnare a powerful ship like the Tasco and to withstand the weight of automobiles carrying supplies and visitors.
